What we store

  • Your name and institutional email address.
  • The profile details you enter yourself.
  • Login metadata.
  • Rate-limiting records for login requests: your IP address with a timestamp, kept only as long as the rate-limit window.

Who can see what

  • Your profile appears on the maps / the grid only when this is enabled in the settings and you have added at least one keyword or method.
  • Your email address and LinkedIn URL are shown to other researchers only if you enable them in your profile settings.
  • ORCID, ResearcherID, and your PhD dates are shown on your profile card while your profile is visible.
  • All of the above is visible only to logged-in users of this platform; there is no public access.

Deleting your account

In your Profile Settings, “Delete My Profile” permanently removes your account and associated data. If you cannot log in and want your data removed, contact support@researchmap.nl.

Cookies

If you keep the “remember me” option enabled, a persistent login cookie keeps you signed in for 30 days.
